Temple's 1st Halloween!

Temple dressed up like a fishy to go with the mermaids, and Aaron was his usual self, a fisherman. She also got to have her first piece of candy, and loved it. It made her a little crazy though! (you can see it in her eyes :) sugarsugarsugar!!)

my little family :) we had a lot of fun going around the neighborhood trick-or-treating

10 months old

So, Temple is about 10.5 months now, and yesterday she took her first couple steps! She stands really well, for about a minute or so, and then takes two before plunking back down. She's growing so fast :) Her words are mama, dada, and she waves hello, as well as makes the sign for "please" though I don't know if she knows it yet! Tomorrow is going to be the first day that we start packing up for the move to Washington, and it will distract me from the fact that she will be turning a year old next month. I don't know how that happened. What a blessing she is. She has such a funny little personality, loves to laugh and make silly noises. She has 2 teeth on the bottom, and 4 across the top, and a big appetite for chewing anything she can get her hands on.

A few pictures from lately, more to come soon!

 sisters!

 working hard to stand up!

I love this photo. Selah, in a "chefs" hat (white paper bag) mixing up some food, in my old apron, while little sister watches all the action. cuteness!

August 27

I just have to share this picture of my smiling, healthy girl. God is good! Surgery friday was successful and today, Monday she was able to eat for the first time. We are blessed that she is healing well and is in good hands. Thanks for all your prayers!

9 months

Temple, 1 week shy of 9 months old. She is crawling fast, and has 2 full teeth, two more working their way out. She is starting to get brave and try to stand up, but does a good job walking along the edges of the furniture. We had her hair trimmed, which took some getting used to, but now I'm pretty sure it makes her eyes look even MORE huge. Here are some pictures :)

With her little friend elenore at the pool

First bite of pancakes, she loves them!!

Thoughts

Temple, she looks up to her big sis so much. She will wake up in her crib, fussing, but if Selah goes in there, Temple is immediately cheerful. Her personality and laugh get bigger everyday. Aaron and I do anything we can to hear that laugh,  it comes gurgling, bubbling out, and gets us all laughing. I had her hair cut on Friday. At first I panicked, almost in tears, thinking that her crazy hair was part of her crazy personality. Alas, it is a day later, and I have come to love her pixy, elvish little look. It makes her eyes look even bigger, and you can see her beautiful face. She is such a cuddly baby, but she also takes off speed crawling when you set her down, laughing all the way. She challenges the cat a lot lately, always interested in her bowls of food and water. Knowing that she has a rough time coming up ahead of her with the surgery, Aaron and I just fall all over her with kisses and cuddles, wanting to hold onto time. Perhaps we can just fill her up with enough love and strength that she will sail through this and still be our happy chuckling baby when it's all over. I know she will be fine, but I still squeeze her just a little extra, let her linger in our bed just a little longer.

the days with both my girls are precious. I love them both to pieces, and i pray for them both, that God is watching over them, holding them tight, that the days will melt like steel in my mind, soft but strong memories of these days when they are young.
